PreneurNET was informed that HostNOC datacenter maintenance staff will be performing emergency maintenance in our Scranton facility during the hours of 6AM to 8AM EST tomorrow---Saturday April 4th 2009.
At this time, Maintenance Support will be replacing a portion of electrical wiring in the facility, and the breaker which services them, connecting two power distribution units (PDUs) to their incoming power supply. Upon routine inspection, this wiring was found to be deteriorating, and has become a hazard.
We are currently investigating the cause of this, and will repair such once found. It will be necessary to shut off power to this equipment to make the necessary repairs. We expect the downtime to be 60 minutes or less, during the 2-hour maintenance window. This repair will be service affecting, however, it will not affect all clientele in the facility, or the network as a whole, but will affect about 15-20% of the servers in the facility.
PreneurNET's datacenter support counterpart will have staff on-hand to bring affected servers back online following the maintenance. The Maintenance staff has been relocating some servers racks off of these PDUs since the issue was found, and will continue to do so up until the time of maintenance, to reduce the impact of those clientele affected.
We thank you for your patience and understanding with this necessary maintenance, as well as for your continued business!
